Introduction

Exploring the edges of the Antwerp docks, and looking at GeoCart, you would think there is no place for a bicycle in this area. That is wrong. There is an interesting and safe route through the east bank port, and once past the port fine riding on wide paved towpath through farmland. The route follows the east (land) side of the port area. The island between the main port channel and the river requires riding on a toll highway with heavy traffic.
