Introduction

This route runs through the beautiful, historic area of the creeks and polders to the south of Ostend. It starts at the picturesque village of Stene, which is still part of the city. The quietness of this rural area forms a sharp contrast with the bustling atmosphere in the city centre, the sky-line of which can still be seen from here. You can walk or cycle on small roads leading through the fields and meadows. Most picturesque of course are the creeks.
